Solved: Update library hangs unpredictably while scanning SMB share on a Fritzbox router

I remember you already suggested OMV in my former post and it's not that I'm being lazy... since that query I had done some progress and got Moode to see my hd attached to the fritzbox and start the scan. So it wasn't obvious to me that it's still the same problem and I guess I assumed that if the music folder is there to see for Moode, then it should also be able to scan it.

Since I was wrong and I'd have to get more hw, do you think it's best to find a pre-owned Nas (dating back perhaps some 10-12years ago) or another Pi? If another Pi, is there a minimum requirement in terms of specs? do I need a Pi5, Pi4, or ...?

In case it's relevant, for the foreseeable future the only use I'd be making of it (whether it's a Nas or OMV) is streaming music with Moode. I can only add that a 2-bay NAS could give me raid options (which I don't really need right now, but could always come in handy)

thanks for whatever comments
