The symptom of having "moOde disappear" on the configuration screens suggests that the initial setup wasn't done right. The latest moOde images must be written to the SD card using the official RaspberryPI Image tool. This is available for Mac, from the RaspberryPi website.
In this tool, you must set a username and password for your moOde installation. Also setup your WIFI connection in thta tools and you'll be connected to your network wirelessly if that's how you want it, or plug an ethernet cable between your router and the Pi. You can also set a hostname if you like which helps you find the installation later.
Once the SD card is set up right, put it in the Pi and boot. Wait a few minutes and then you will be able to connect to your moOde player by opening a browser on any device on the network and pointing it a t "moode.local" or "<hostname>.local" if you set a different hostname in the Image tool.
If it still isn't working after that, come back and give us some precise information about what t did and what didn't work and we'll try to help.
