Moode hangs(?) after ~24h

I wired one of them, which allowed me to discover the error ndisc["wlan0"]: solicit: failur, which led me to an rpi bug report that sounds a lot like my situation. I'm trying some of the hacks now - changing the wifi settings was not successful, so I'm trying a cron job as in the latest reply there. Givven that each attempt takes about 24 hours to test, it may be a bit to see whether this works.
