This is emphatically not a waste of time for us. We don't have direct access to a Synology NAS so you are actively helping us gather data. Please don't abandon r4.4 just yet!
We need to get back to command-line basics, though. You don't type any part of "pi@moode:~ $". That's just the Linux prompt. Just type
smbtree -N -b
or
smbclient -N -L <servername>

PS - the name after the "@" will be whatever is the current hostname of the moOde player. That's "moode" in the default case and why you saw "MoodeLR" in one of my posts.
