I create an asound file, cof and edit the slave pcm.

Yes?
what should I enter in slave.pcm, different things get displayed after typing aplay -l.
When editing files in parentheses, is it not necessary to enter the physical resolution of the display?
- what is your display configuration?
In this question, I don't quite understand what it is.
I think we'll fire it together.
I have moodeAudio ver 6.7.1

Let's try step by step:
could you please send the output of the following commands:

Code:
aplay -l
sudo /var/www/command/sysinfo.sh
cat /etc/mpd.conf
cat /etc/asound.conf
ls -lia /dev/fb*

About display configuration: I mean "what is your system configuration"? for example: raspberry pi 4b, allo piano dac, local display 7 inch, etc

After the installation, are you able to listen the music?

Francesco

Hello
Since I decided not to give up, this answer will be quite long Smile
I will divide it into parts to make it easier for us to talk.

1. After entering the command
cd PeppyMeter
sudo openvt -s - sudo python3 peppymeter.py
I can see different types of indicators changing on the screen. So this part of the installation went fine.

2. After entering the command
/ home / pi / peppyalsa / src / peppyalsa-client / var / tmp / peppyfifo
I can't see the bars flashing to the beat of the music

3. After entering the command
aplay -l

First things first.
I create an asound file, cof and edit the slave pcm.
Then I make a copy of this file in another directory under the name .asoundrc
Yes?
what should I enter in slave.pcm, different things get displayed after typing aplay -l.

Regards,
Francesco

Hi, after your answer it is clear that the first part of the installation (peppyalsa) does not have the expected results.
At this point you should:
- enable "verbose" to the mpd log
- clear system logs
- reboot the system
- start a song or radio
- send me the mpd log ("/ var / log / mpd / log")

Unfortunately, I cannot analyze everything better before tomorrow afternoon.
thank you and greetings,
Francesco

Hi,
I went through all the material and noticed it
1) your file system hasn't expanded yet - obviously that can't be the reason for the problem.
2) all your settings are the same as mine: the only difference is system version 6.7.1 vs 7.0.1: if I have enough time, tomorrow I'll build a system with 6.7.1 and check
3) I confirm the action I have already requested:

Code:
- enable "verbose" to the mpd log
- clear system logs
- reboot the system
- start a song or radio
- send me the mpd log ("/ var / log / mpd / log")

Further more could you please send to me the results of the following command?

Code:
ls -lia /var/tmp/peppyfifo

and could you please try, during the listening of music the following command?

Code:
cat /var/tmp/peppyfifo

you should see garbage in the screen and cursor moving with the music change.

Please let me know,
Best regards,
Francesco

Hi all,
this is to inform you that as you can see in the attachement, I have added a two buttons to switch from moOde GUI to PeppyMeter and from PeppyMeter back to the moOde GUI.

Best regards and enjoy listening music... and its graphic,
Francesco

Hi mrudzin,
I built a new system from scratch with 6.7.1 and everything works fine.

The only difference is the position of the line to be changed in the powerlib.php which is 1694 instead of 1994.
It means that the MPD configuration, for the 6.7.1 release, must be modified in:

Quote:At this point we have to patch an important file that create the configuration of moOde MPD:

Code:
sudo nano /var/www/inc/playerlib.php

Quote: Wrote:^-1694 to go to row 1694 and modify the current content from:

Code:
Code:
"name \"ALSA default\"\n" . "device \"hw:" . $device . ",0\"\n",

to the new content:

Code:
Code:
"name \"ALSA default\"\n" . "device \"peppyalsa\"\n",

^o and Enter to save and then ^x to exit.

Now reboot the system and try to listen any music (a radio is the simplest way) if it is still alive!!! If not we have to troubleshoot where we made a mistake.

I saw that your "mpd.conf" already looks good: have you changed that line yet?
Let me know.
Greetings,
Francesco

Hello
Unfortunately, I had to install the system in version 6.7.1 because in higher versions, after connecting the streaming from the Audirvana program, noise appeared in the speakers after a few minutes.
Nobody on the forum was able to help me so I went back to version 6.7.1. It's hard to say what the reason is. Some say that the version of the prop, others that the driver for the card, and others that the Audirvana. I gave up and I have version 6.7.1
I found this line in 1694 because I figured that some mistake had crept into the description.
I am about to install the new version of the software and do everything from scratch.
The only doubt I have is what to enter in the slave pcm position.

Hello mrudzin,
the release seems to be not a problem.
Relating to  slave pcm position, if you are earing the music after the installation it means that it is ok. Any way it is the default output address that you saw in the aplay -l

Quote:card 0: DAC [I-Saber Q2M DAC], device 0: I-Saber Q2M DAC i-saber-codec-i2c.1-0048-0 [I-Saber Q2M DAC i-saber-codec-i2c.1-0048 -0]
so card 0 device 0 then

Quote:slave.pcm "hw:0,0"

I already controlled that it is ok.
To try to go on please refere to the post #15 of this thread and let me have the related material and answers.
We will make it happen!!!
Greating,
Francesco

the release seems to be not a problem.

Greating,
Francesco

Code:

Code:
- enable "verbose" to the mpd log
- clear system logs
- reboot the system
- start a song or radio
- send me the mpd log ("/ var / log / mpd / log")

Further more could you please send to me the results of the following command?

Code:

Code:
ls -lia /var/tmp/peppyfifo

and could you please try, during the listening of music the following command?

Code:

Code:
cat /var/tmp/peppyfifo

you should see garbage in the screen and cursor moving with the music change.

Please let me know,

Best regards,
Francesco

Hi
Thank you for your time. I fight as much as I can and I try to convey everything to you honestly.
Now I did so.
I installed the image 7.0.1 and did everything as instructed.
After entering the command
home / pi / peppyalsa / src / peppyalsa-client / var / tmp / peppyfifo
everything works. I can see stripes that move to the beat of the music.
Maybe it's really the fault of version 6.7.1?
Now I will finish the installation and enjoy a moment with music from the radio and a working display Smile
Will I always have to do it manually to switch between GUI and peppy?
