Ops,
it could indeed be. The fact we are on a fresh new release somehow drifted my attention away from common-causes...
See what the OP can say in regard.

I ran some tests and am not able to repro the issue. It all works just fine.

@AudioInspired
- What browser/OS are you using?
- Have you tried clearing Browser cache?
- Turning off Browser extensions?

Browser: Safari/17.1.2/Sonoma 14.1.2
Tried:  No, I didn't see the needed to clear Browser cache as everything works when I select Preferences / Badge.  However, after receiving the suggestion, I confirmed the same issue/experience using a different browser, Chrome.  I just tried my iPhone, also using Safari, and same issue between Badge and HD only.  If others are not able to reproduce it, perhaps there is a file format in my library that is causing the issue?
Extensions: No Safari browser extensions active.

Very odd. My tests were using Safari, Chrome and Firefox on MacOS and no issues.

Its not obvious to me what might be going on but maybe someone that can repro the issue will have some insights.

Again... I do not get you

can you post some screenshots of what you set, select, expect to see, and actually see?
I tried as well with 6 months, and everything is still consistent (although in the past six months I happen to have added more than 30 albums...)

Thanks for looking at this. I apologize for not being articulate in explaining what I am experiencing.  I agree it works fine if one does not change the view from All Music to Recently Viewed, and then go back to All Music.  I added two screen shots of my selection, but I think you already get what I am saying.  The sorting / viewing work fine until I switch from All Music to Recent Added and then back to All Music.  After going back and forth with different preferences, it seems that when HD only is selected, and when I go to Tag, the browser does not clear the Genre column, nor the Album Artists column.  However, when Badge is selected, these columns are cleared by selecting the top of each.  The selection affects what is presented on the All Music view.  At first I thought it was user error, and perhaps it still is, but it seems to work differently (and as expected) when I select Badge.

I cut my library in half, and everything works fine, regardless of the Badge or HD only Preference.  I'll start adding folders in an attempt to pinpoint what I have that isn't playing nice withe the HD only Preference.    Sorry to post before I had spent more time on my end.

Now maybe I get it a little better,

Changing between All Music and Recently Added does not filter the Artists, nor the Genres (the two still display all the available artists and genres in the whole collection), only the Albums view, or the albums column in the Tag view, presents either ALL, or RECENTLY ADDED albums.
Anyway, I see a consistent behavior, no matter what "Sample Rate" display preference I set.

I cannot remember if in the past also the Artists (and maybe the Genres too) were affected by toggling between all-music and recently-added... @Tim Curtis any thoughts?

Nope just albums are affected. It's always been that way.
