I never said it would be easy... 
I'll have a look at the scripts, but when not accessible from a web api it won't help my specific situation.
For now I think an option to stop the renderer from the moOde UI would help a lot. Stopping the renderer not only saves me going up the stairs to ask my family to stop their Spotify or Airplay session, but would also stop the music. And when accessible from the web-UI, I can most likely also access it from my device. Controlling the volume is a plus, but I get that is not a top priority.
