[PROBLEM] Random Not Working

I'm also having trouble with auto-shuffle in later versions of MoOde using a pi 3b. I've also tried a 4b.
Here's my findings:
Number of songs: 22277
With MoOde versions 5.3 through to 6.3 absolutely no problems - shuffle works perfectly.
Version 6.3 using mpd 0-20-23 - shuffle works perfectly.
Version 6.3 using mpd 0-21-15 - shuffle no longer working.(later versions of MoOde same results)
Change back to 0-20-23 - shuffle works again.
As the shuffle feature is important to me I'm sticking to 6.3 at the moment but it looks like the ashuffle/mpd combination is fussy about versions with large libraries.

2. Stop playback
3. Click the Random button

- Consume mode is automatically turned ON
- Two tracks are added to the end of the Playlist
- First of the two tracks begins playback

Loop
- When track finishes its consumed (deleted from the Playlist)
- Next track begins playback
- A new randomly selected track is added to the end of the Playlist

In fact this is what I've always done and it works fine with the early versions of MoOde I've used (5.3 to 6.3 as I said above) but it just won't work with later versions!

I'm not able to repro on my end but if someone can post steps that would allow me to repro I'll be happy to investigate.

by "Random" button, are you referring to this:


If correct, these are exact steps I'm trying:
1. Turn Auto-shuffle OFF in Audio Config, click SET
2. Turn Auto Shuffle ON in Audio Config then click SET
3. Stop playback
4. Click the Random button
5. One complete album is added to playlist, playback starts, consume does not turn on, album finishes playback, nothing further happens. No songs added, etc

OK,  Still not working.

Newest test sequence.
0. Add 5 songs to playlist.
1. Turn Auto-shuffle OFF in Audio Config, click SET
2. Turn Auto Shuffle ON in Audio Config then click SET
3. Click the Random button
4. Press Play
5. Once complete, playback stops, nothing further happens. No songs added

I just try, and no problems either.

Try to Turn Auto Shuffle ON

Connect to SSH and run this command:

pgrep -l ashuffle

If it return nothing ashuffle is not running. That would explain why it doesn't work
Next step would be to find the reason why.

Run this command and see what happen:

Here is response to both commands.  Ist command has no output.

Are u using a NAS ?
