Kent seemed to think the new kernel had a fix for the 'Kali 24 bit bug'. Can you confirm ?

I realise that MoOde tends to communicate with MPD directly rather than via mpc (although it does sometimes use mpc).
Wondering if you might bump up from mpc V 0.31 to mpc V 0.33? There seems to be some performance benefits for those people who control Moode from the mpc CLI rather than via the web UI Changelog entries for the last two versions are 0.33 (2019/10/31) * fix off-by-one bug in "prio" command * reduce network transfer for "playlist", "ls", "listall" 0.32 (2019/06/11) * add command "listneighbors" * reduce network transfer for "search" * fall back to "Composer" or "AlbumArtist" tag in the default format * support abstract socket in --host option

Well, to be precise, I said three Allo commits were pulled into the Raspberry Pi kernel. You’ll have to read the commits to see what they address (“use the source, Luke” ). Regards, Kent
This may be too late for the upcoming release, and may be one for a follow-up patch.
Naim Radio no longer works as Naim have updated that stream and added two more, as follows: Naim Radio: FLAC 16/44.1 http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8360/flac.flac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8362/flac.flac AAC 320kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8360/high.aac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8362/high.aac MP3 128kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8360/low.mp3 https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8362/low.mp3 Naim Classical: FLAC 16/44.1 http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8250/class-flac.flac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8252/class-flac.flac AAC 320kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8250/class-high.aac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8252/class-high.aac MP3 128kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8250/class-low.mp3 https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8252/class-low.mp3 Naim Jazz: FLAC 16/44.1 http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8340/jazz-flac.flac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8342/jazz-flac.flac AAC 320kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8340/jazz-high.aac https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8342/jazz-high.aac MP3 128kb http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8340/jazz-low.mp3 https://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8342/jazz-low.mp3 I've got them all working using the AAC streams that I've emboldened, but have not tried any of the others. Normally I only examine kernel commits when I'm bumping to a particular kernel for example the 5.4.77 kernel contains a commit from Allo for the Piano plus driver. https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/c...9f94a6bd32 https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/3943 The Kali reclocker has no kernel driver, in fact the kernel doesn't even know a reclocker is sitting between the Pi's I2S output and the audio device. IIRC the 24-bit issue with the Kali has something to do with it's design or firmware and is not fixable but you would have to ask Allo about that. The workaround is to just set SoX to 32 bit / * kHz.

Tim, I've got the flac streams going as well, but there seems to no track data shown. From reading the Naim forum there seems to be some issue at the moment (the new streams have only been up for a couple of days! So great sound....but you don't know what you're listening to...LOL |
