Problem: Audirvana can't stream to moOde
#11
There is also a setting you could try in moOde UPnP Config.
UPnP A.V services
Openhome services

Try one or the other.
Enjoy the Music!

Alright, will do that. Thanks!

When you do, be sure to mention that at least one user reports Audirvana + MacOS works with moOde. Otherwise, they're likely to say simply it must be moOde's problem.

Very good advice.

My Moode UPnP Renderers work perfectly not only with Audirvana acting as server, but also JRiver (Windows, Mac, Linux, and RPi versions), or BubbleUPnP and mconnect on Android too.

I have never used the Windows version of Audirvana however, so that could be an issue here, Audirvana was Mac only for many years, perhaps the newer Windows version is not as mature.

I use Audirvana->Moode most of the time. The main problems I am having are connectivity issues with the RPi as a whole but the UPnP option also keeps disappearing from Audirvana. If you go to Moode and restart the UPnP service it comes right back up. I am currently having to do this 5-10 times a day to keep the connection working. To the OP: did you check to ensure that the Moode UPnP service is still listed in AUdirvana? If not, try my workaround.

An interesting FAQ on the Audirvana site:

WHY AUDIRVANA DOESN'T INCLUDE MY UPNP NETWORK DEVICE IN THE AUDIO DEVICES?

Quote:First make sure that your Mac and your network drive are connected to the same local network, with no router in between.

Then check that no other UPnP applications are running on your Mac when you launch Audirvana. Only one application at a time can open the SSDP port (UDP 1900) at a time to detect UPnP devices.

Granted it says Mac but I'll wouldn't be surprised if the same is true for Windows 10 hosts so it's worth checking.  Wink

My setup on macOS with Audirvana, or JRiver as server, simply never has any of these problems. The only thing I should add as a potential difference maker is I have running in the background 24/7 the BubbleUPnP Server application, which is a bit of a misnomer, it's not actually a standalone server but an add-on, and among it's various features perhaps it is this one that aids my setup:
  • fix issues of UPnP/DLNA Media Servers (discovery issues, broken data, add some audio DLNA compliance) by creating a proxy Media Server
Works for me, my Moode endpoints have had no issues using the UPnP Renderer over many different versions now, since 2016. Maybe if others are having unexplained troubles they should just install BubbleUPnP Server to see if their problems magically go away.

I have the same issue with RoPieeeXL since it got updated on Sunday. Audirvana+ finds the renderer and plays a few seconds. Then stops and can't play any music until reboot of the system. At the same time USB to the DAC works out of Audirvana and Foobar2000 can also stream to moOde or RoPieeeXL. The renderer is always shown correctly and does not disappear.

Is anyone here using Audirvana+ on Windows to stream to moOde?

Seems to be a problem with Audirvana+ on Windows and newer versions of Pi based audio software.

Interesting, can you test with either Android or iOS, try mconnect HD, or even the Lite version if you don't want to pay the $5.99? That app (and BubbleUPnP on Android only) are worth having when trying to pinpoint where these troubles are coming from. If it works on Android or iOS, then the issue would seem to be with Windows.

This assumes you have either a Qobuz or Tidal account to stream from, otherwise those apps don't really help with anything.

I have tried Audirvana on Windows 10 running on VMware streaming 24-bit/192kHz music from Qobuz also ALAC files from local storage as well. No problem at all. It is the best software for streaming 24-bit/192kHz HD music through UPnP. Using AirPlay to stream music to moOde is convenient with the limitation of 16-bit.

Current state is:

UPnP works with Volumio, but not with moOde and RoPieeeXL.

This is with today's updates of Audirvana+ and the RoPieeeXL beta.

Windows 10 + Audirvana + Moode (UPNP/Rpi3b+) = 100% working here. No special config.
