I think I identified the "special config".
Streaming to RoPieeeXL works when I disable Sonarworks VST plugin in Aufirvana+.
I guess this is the same with moOde, but Volumio seems different, because it works also with VST plugin enabled.
I only have two SD cards, so I can't test all three Pi softwares at the same time

Which version of Moode, 7.0.1?

The answer is here: https://audirvana.com/audio-devices/
The worker around solution is as your said that to disable Sonarworks plugin.
If you use AirPlay, it will work. But, the resolution is limited to 16-bit/44.1kHz. If you use Windows 8/10, you can get a third party software to do airplay.

I am not sure which answer you mean in that link? Can't find any answer there
The workaround solution right now is to use DietPi with Allo GUI. Volumio works as well. Both also with VST plugin enabled, that is.
Thanks all for your support here! Fortunately, there are several Pi based solutions from which one can choose.

Yes, installed 7.0.1, configured wifi, and enabled UPNP renderer. Not sure if it helps...

Volumio is not moOde; moOde is not Volumio.
Having said that, both use upmpdcli to provide their UPnP/OpenHome client services (aka renderers).
In moOde 7.0.1 we upgraded to a more recent version of upmpdcli (users are always pushing Tim to be on the bleeding edge of technology!).
A consequence of this is that the UPnP client now separates the UPnP A/V services and OpenHome services more cleanly...hence the UPnP Config panel now offers the choices it does. (See the upmpdcli website and release notes for an explanation.)
If your 3rd party app works with Volumio as a UPnP renderer but not with moOde, then it seems likely a difference in upmpdcli version and/or in its configuration, which is defined in /etc/upmpdcli.conf.
We're not going to go reverse-engineering Volumio or RoPieee or "DietPi-Software" or Audirvana and certainly not Audirvana's plugins. If you figure out what's different about the configuration, then please tell us what it is.
Regards,
Kent

Thanks for the clarifications. I am new to the UPnP world and of course it's not easy to find out what's the cause when there's a lot of different software involved.
If I figure out something, I'll let you know for sure. But actually I just want UPnP with my system to work, which it does right now.

There is problem reported on UPnP in moode v7.0.1 when use in Android with Bubble UPNP and Qobuz. You can check out "Official moOde 7.0.1 support thread "page 30" ". I think the problem is in the upnpmpdcli in v7.0.1.

I'm guessing here but to me this sounds like Audirvana isn't compatible with the OpenHome protocol and instead depends on bog-standard UPnP A/V.... This probably wouldn't have surfaced as an issue in versions of Moode up until I think v7.0.1, as it featured earlier incarnations of upmpdcli which some how could combine the two protocols (OpenHome + UPnP A/V) into a single service. But this approach apparently had issues with BubbleUPNP for android, hence with new builds of upmpdcli there is now one service for OpenHome and another one UPnP A/V.
I don't know if this has already been attempted, or makes any difference. My suggestion is that upmpdcli's UPnP A/V service is activated and perhaps even its OpenHome service switched off - this can easily be done via the UPNP config page on Moode's ui. Oh and do make sure that Audirvana can pass through the firewall on Windows.
Upmpdcli continues to evolve, at some speed, and its developer provides really good support, so if there's no joy with this or anything else on this thread, I would urge you to report this issue to him - https://framagit.org/medoc92/upmpdcli/-/issues.

I pulled out my shelved moode v6.7.1 uSD card to test Audirvana. The ver of upmpdcli used is 1.4.12 with linupnpp 0.19.1. Audirvana in Windows 10 streamed music from the decoded and buffered Qobuz 24-bit/192kHz FLAC music without problem. If I use moode v7.0.1, upmpdcli v1.5.1 and libupnpp 0.20.0, I will hear loud white noise randomly if 96k and above streamed music from Qobuz. Audirvana will create a temporary wav file for the decoded "FLAC encoded music" then send the location of its local file to UPNP renderer. The Android App BubbleUPNP will forward the URL to the UPNP renderer instead. Therefore, I will go back to moode v6.7.1.
