I just tried the Internet Archive Wayback Machine (archive.org). It says it crawled this repo on four different days in March.

I guess that risk only extends as far as having to re-flash with stock moode should it all go horribly wrong? There's nothing permanent here?

The only risk is manually undoing the various tweaks to files breaking things because of user error.

The script itself is self-contained, easy to understand what changes are made.

There are some sysctls changed and a script which runs at each boot (Sound.sh).

I haven't had any problems with the changes therein.

Note: you will need some basic knowledge of Linux ssh, copying, moving etc. nothing major.
