[PROBLEM] ES9028q2m with latest moodeaudio

I don't see anything suspicious in the log. All the audio and device related log entries indicate the DAC was recognized by Linux kernel and is configured correctly.

I have one of these units somewhere. If I get the chance later today I'll boot it up and see if I can repro your issue.

seems to work now! screwed everything together again and removed all additional stuff (IR tft display and so on...). Maybe even good to know for you: Im running now completely on latest and (sometimes) greatest RaspbianOS with Kernel 5.10. The only thing missing is enabling SPI (enabling SPI in parallel leads to a kind of a chainsaw pattern visualizing the output on an oscilloscope), but as you wrote its already an unsupported image now.

Did you setup the SPI (OLED) as well? As my setup seems to interfere if I enable spi=on in configt.txt

This is a known issue with the DAC in combination with the Pi 4, acknowledged by the Audiophonics team in the RaspDAC Mini thread. All you can do is send the DAC back to them so they can update its firmware, or swap out the Pi for a 3B+ or earlier model.

No, I never bother setting up the OLED, it's all put together in the box as per instructions but I am just not interested in having a display on the box.
