Browser - Chrome release 90 issue

Hi ! I am experiencing a connection issue when using the new Chrome OS release 90 (Version 90.0.4430.86 (Official Build) (64-bit).  It appears on both Chrome OS and Chrome on Win10. Chrome versions on Android  (latest on my phone, on the Chrome OS Android and on an old Android tablet (v7) seem to be immune so far.

The result is solid (rebooting all devices in the chain did not change the behaviour).

Anybody has experienced that ? Any workaround ?

We know Google is playing with https nowadays.

I have latest version 90 on my Mac and no issues.
Google Chrome is up to date
Version 90.0.4430.85 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Just updated my Google browser in Win10, my Samsung/Android phone has already been updated to v90. Both appear to work quite normally.

I think chrome 90 defaults to trying https.  Make sure you explicitly state http://

Hi, Michel.

I think every major browser has already moved or is in the process of moving to the default https:// prefix as phil said. However, if this were the cause of your problem then I would expect to see messages like "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" or "Site can't be reached" or somesuch show in the browser window.

I've never seen an error message like "URL REMOVED - BROKEN". What is the exact wording and is it in the browser window? in the browser console? 

I can find very few useful hits using the usual search engines. What I did find seems to relate to ancient bugs in the chromium codebase or else to simple HTTP 404 errors. I don't have the inclination or the energy to download and search the source code for clues (according to Google, it takes half an hour just to download on a fast link!).

Like others, I don't see this error message using the Google Chrome Version 90.0.4430.85 or Microsoft Edge Version 90.0.818.46 running on my (virtual) Win10Pro box. The latter is based on the former.

One last desperate measure: did you clear your browser cache? Even more desperate, how about the DNS caches on the various hosts?

I removed the URL and replaced it with the text u see cos the link was broken. It was a link to a google drive file but what I saw was some sort of odd error in the Browser. I originally thought it was a spam link but then decided it was just a broken url and recommended in a following post to just upload a screen shot of the error message.

It looks like the OP added the screenies.

No problem ... I'm new on this board and I did not see the way to insert attachment.

So far, after some tests, I have the following in my environment ...

DON'T work

• Chrome OS 90 browser
  
• Chrome 90 on WIN10
  

DO work

• Chrome 90 on my Android Phone (Pixel 5)
  
• Chrome 91 in an Android windows under Chrome OS
  
• Chrome 90 on an Android v7 tablet
  

I still think the issue is with Chrome so I'll be waiting for an update on their side as I have ways to enjoy my music anyway :-)
