Solved: How to do an in-place update?
#1
I am currently using version 7.1 and want to in-place update to version 7.2.1. However, when I use the button check for software updates, it tells me that the system is up to date.

Can somebody give me a step-by-step tutorial on what exactly I have to do?
Must I first download a file, and how?
To be honest, the button check for software updates had never worked for me before, and I always have installed MoOde from scratch. Now I want to find out how the in-place update works to save time. I don't want to configure the whole thing over and over again. Wink

Clearing the browser cache has been known to fix this.

What web-browser are you using to access your MoOde install ? FFox, Chrome, Vivaldi, etc ??

I have done that right now, but it didn't help. I am using chrome Version 90.0.4430.212; what is the newest version.

I also have rebooted the Raspberry Pi. No success.

hmmm.
What happens if you try to update in steps....
Try this from an ssh session

Code:
sudo /var/www/command/updater.sh r720

I have got an error. Must I first somehow update to 7.2.0? Unfortunately, the system is still on version 7.1.0.

Have you modified the build or package set in some way?

Try below and if it works then reboot and open MPD Config then SAVE.

Code:
sudo /var/www/command/updater.sh r710

Oops! I obviously was typing too fast and thinking too slow and gave the wrong version. Apologies to @BitCoder .

Hi guys

Thank you for your help. Now it worked.

First I launched the command

Code:
sudo /var/www/command/updater.sh r710

reboot, switched to the mpd settings, and saved the without change anything.
then the system was on version 7.2.0

second I launched the command
Code:
sudo /var/www/command/updater.sh r720

reboot, switched to the mpd settings, and saved the without change anything.
thereafter the system is on version 7.2.1
