Raspberry Pi OS 32-bit vs. 64-bit Benchmarks
And there is also more performance for CamillaDSP.

During the building of the 64-bit packages, the system bit felt faster, but that can of course also be user bias  Wink

Considering that moOde and its competitors have been working just fine in 32-bit user space since the beginning, I believe the two biggest advantages of having the ability to build and deploy a 64-bit system are
  • users will stop bugging us for it
  • we'll know that moOde will live on, should the RPF decide someday to abandon 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS (unlikely but not impossible).
Whether there will turn out to be a performance advantage or penalty depends on the specific scenario. Lots of ink has been spilled on other forums about this subject (without reaching a categorical conclusion in my opinion).

All I care about is the system delivers the bytes to my DAC on time.

Kent

Thanks Tim and contributors for the wonderful moOde audio player development.

I would like to request the previous [Clear/Add] context menu option while in Album browsing, I've used to have that option in moOde 7.6.x.

The reason is that I use [Clear/Add] followed by [Add] while building the new playlist, and before tuning the audio system for later play.

This request was previously mentioned HERE

Ultimately we would like to have configurable buttons and menu items but thats a non-trivial effort and so would prolly need a dev to volunteer to make that happen :-)

The new Playlist view feature should make playlists much easier to create and manage :-)

I appreciate your optimism, but I suspect those users will simply be replaced with others who are clamouring for a return to 32bit because it sounds warmer...

In the mean time, three dot menu on the playbar, clear queue, then add. A couple more clicks, but it has the same effect.
