It should work over HDMI to something like an AVR. I could prolly run a test in my media room. ALSA output prolly needs to be to Default though.
Yes, I was indeed thinking of an AVR.
Ah, bear in mind that people having tried the station say that, although is 6 channels (aka 5.1 - VLC also reports 3front + 2rear + LFE) the center channel produces no sound.
These are test channels (meaning, if they work then some effort could be made on their side to actually have real MCH stations), so they may also be up-mixes of some sort; nevertheless it would be nice to see what moOde can produce with them.
Testing Pi-4 HDMI to my AVR and the channel decode is correct. There is sound from L/C/R and Sub but no sound from SL/SR (surrounds).

Weird, but maybe the streams geometry changes from time to time, or the up-mixing is just with empty additional channels... after all they are just unofficial test streams...
Cool that HDMI pass-through works! :-)
I think I sent you, some time ago, a multichannel FLAC for test purposes; you can try that too (it's supposed to be a real 5.1)
I can always share it again, if you like.

Hi Robert,
Naim Jazz is already part of the moOde default radios.
Which are the other stations that you "can't get them to work in moOde"? I will try to help you.
Best regards,
Francesco

Very odd, none of my three players have Naim Jazz already.
The streams that I couldn't get to work were the FLAC versions of the three Naim stations. The problem was with the https versions though, the certificate was expired. Using the http versions works, but as noted there is not metadata transmitted on the FLAC streams.
If anyone is interested, the urls are:
Naim Radio: http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8360/flac.flac
Naim Classical: http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8250/class-flac.flac
Naim Jazz: http://mscp3.live-streams.nl:8340/jazz-flac.flac

Robert, I think that NAIM stations are in the moOde default (3 stations in AAC) since the 7.0.x, before there was only one station.
About the the stations in HTTPS: I have problems too.
Thanks and best regaards,
Francesco

Yeah, I've got Naim Radio and Naim Classical, I was surprised that Jazz wasn't there. I suppose I must have at some point accidentally removed it. I think I'll burn a fresh image to be sure I've got the latest defaults.
Sorry for cluttering up the thread.

Hi Robert,
you haven't cluttered because you specified some FLAC radios. I apology if my replies has been interpreted as negative comment: I am sorry.
Best regards and thanks again,
Francesco
