Solved: MPD Error

@LordShadow

I'm late to the game here but FYI --- please start a new thread when you have a new problem. If you read up-thread, you'll see your problem differs from the original poster. Your problem gets lost in the shuffle.

I understand yours may not be a permissions problem, but to amend Al's reply in case anyone else reads this thread, only local USB drives are mounted under /media. Any SMB and NFS shares on remote NASes defined as music sources are mounted under /mnt/NAS and permission problems should they occur there will have to be sniffed out.

There's also a music directory on the uSD card. In particular, it holds the stereo test track but I often stuff other test files in it. It's mounted under /mnt/SDCARD. Permission problems there would seem unlikely.

Here's hoping your reinstall does the trick.

Regards,
Kent

Final post on this subject. I have returned the card to the supplier (who is now out of stock) and installed a new card from another supplier. Bingo! It all works perfectly as documented by Tim running on a Pi 2B making good use of my Pi which I have had for years.
