Hi all, merry crew,
I just wanted to hear what are your thoughts about the reclockers in a scenario where UAC2.0 is involved (pretty everywhere a USB DAC is, nowadays).
Isn't it true that UAC2.0 has the endpoint (the DAC) request data (possibly in packets?) as it needs, and clock it locally, thus rendering the reclocking redundant, or rather useless?
Another thing is (I believe) S/PDIF, whether over coax or toslink, where the clock travels along with the signal itself.
All this is of course related to jitter, as usually it gets compared to what was (is...?) wow/flutter to tape or platter, but technically it isn't, let alone in terms of audibility...
