[SOLVED] Album View like molasses when Cover Backdrop active.

Pi-3B+ 1.3 1GB  bcm2837 (Kali/ProtoDac)  moOde release = 8.3.9  Library from OMV NAS

Steps to repro..

When Cover Backdrop is activated (Seems it is default for latest release) the Library Album view is severely affected.
Scroll and wait...wait...wait...finally a couple of rows move down but anything below has to wait again before being populated.

Disable Cover Backdrop and Album View is back to being snappy and fast.

Is it just the lower spec Pi-3B+ or is this something else ? (Behaviour is the same when used without Kali or ProtoDac)

If it is just lower spec hardware then perhaps Cover Backdrop shouldn't be default so first-time  users have the best experience ootb ?

Curious. I'm not seeing this behavior here.

RPi3A+, moOde 8.3.9, communicating with network via WiFi, library tracks on a NAS.

WebUI viewed via Firefox on a Linux laptop, Chrome on an iPad, Firefox on a Pixel 6a phone.

I see no essential difference in responsiveness between Cover backdrop on and off.

This is just a shot in the dark but did you try clearing your browser cache?

Yes, should have mentioned that...just tried again to be 100% certain and no change.
Also using Firefox 123.0.1 on Linux.

Edit...Aha!  the accompanying default of Cover Blur at 5px seems to be the culprit...changed to 0px and now Library Album View is snappy again with Cover Backdrop and no Cover Blur.

Hmm, I run with a blurred backdrop and don't see the issue. I've just compared several different blur values and see no difference.
Perhaps another parameter is in play, maybe alpha blend?

Other Blur values give a barely perceptible lag but 5px is atrocious for some reason as yet unaccounted.
Your suggestion re Alpha blend, just tried several and no discernible difference.
