Moode 9.0 in-place update does not work
#1
Fresh install of 9.0 on Raspberry PI 3B+.
When click on button "CHECK for software update" message is that Software is up to date.

May be bug or 9.0.1 is still not ready for in-place update?

P.S. I found it is trying to open URL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/moode-...ode-player which does not exist.

I've not seen any notice that 9.0.1 is released yet.

It is on GitHub:

Github is not leading, just wait until Tim post a release message.

9.0.1 is available at:
https://github.com/moode-player/moode/re...g/r901prod

The updates are usually not available until a day or so after the release.

Right. Release admin has a lot of moving parts and takes a fair amount of time. I usually spread it out over 2 or sometimes 3 days as below. I'm currently at the beginning of the Day 2 activities.

Day 1
1. Create Git release and tags
2. Commit updates to website repo (hold)
3. Create Forum announcement (hold)
4. Test
Day 2
1. Create in-place update files (hold)
2. Test
3. Commit to in-place update repo
Day 2 or 3
1. Post website files to ISP
2. Post Forum announcement
3. Post to other socials
End

As a side note the URL checked for new releases is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/moode-...ode-player that, at the moment, is returning a 404.
The same happened for 9.0 last week, that's the reason I downloaded the image and installed afresh, to find later that 8.x backups could not be loaded.
And to find after setting up everything that there is a simple trick to let 9.x load 8.x backups :/

Maybe I'm just feeling extra curmudgeonly this morning, but this all feels like much ado about nothing.

There's been no release announcement, the release isn't among the choices offered in the Raspberry Pi Imager, a moOde 9.0.0 player doesn't detect the update is available. Seems to me the message is clear. But that's just me.

Regards,
Kent

I'm with you Kent.

Guys, calm down.  Just wait a bit.  It'll be there soon enough.

To make things more interesting my scheme for the 9 in-place update has resulted in a kind of catch 22 for this first one. It might take a day or two to straighten this out.
