Problem: Issues with seeing NAS based music
#1
Hello all, running into a problem with seeing NAS based music in Mo0de. This is my first time using this software, so bear with me.

Setup: RaspPi 3B+
HiFi Berry DAC +
SW version: 9.04

Setup was fine. I was able to install the DAC as well, and it's working fine. The test (L/R, out of phase) sounded fine.

I can hear radio stations, and I can cast to it without issues. However, I cannot see any of my NAS based music (which I have a ton of).

Per the instructions, it says to create a music source, so I do. I call it NAS, use SMB, put in the IP and folder name in (music), and put in proper credentials. I get the green check box that says it's mounted.

I have regenerated the music database, and also have performed Update Library multiple times, but my library never shows up.

I enabled SSH on the Pi, and was able to run the mount command and see that my NAS is mounted under /mnt/NAS/NAS, and I can access the files in my NAS from command line without issue.

The instructions say that after you mount the device, you should be good to go after Update Library runs, but I seem to be having an issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

1. reboot
2. post the startup log (/var/log/moode.log), in a CODE segment - 5th icon from right to left, above the input textbox.
3. regenerate the library
4. examine MPD's log (/var/log/mpd/log) and see if there are issues (theoretically you should see a ton of them... post at least a couple of them here)

Where are you looking ? Perhaps this is just unfamiliarity with the interface, so..

To move to the library view Tap/Click on the artwork on the main page. Yes the big one on the right. (probably a radio station currently)

This will take you to the Library page then top left there navigate to the appropriate library section.

If otherwise problem then follow al's post above

No need to post a log other than the one under /var/log/stupiduser.log! Thank you Bob for pointing out the bleeding obvious.

I found them. I was not thinking to click thru that way to look at folders and such.

I am just getting used to this interface, and to get it working fully the way it needs to. I also had to change the setting for my DAC to Fixed 0db to hear it without cranking the volume up on my stereo.

Thank you again.

There is a good explanation of many of the MoOde items in the Quick Help menu

Top right main page M>quick help. :-)

You've probably found your way back to the main page by now but Tap/clicking on the playbar at the bottom will work too.

Software and hardware volume is the lower circle on the main page..tap and drag to vary.
