Problem: moode version 9
#1
Hello,

Smile

Since I upgraded from version 8.3.9 to version 9.0.6, DSF files (DSD AUDIO 64) have white noise in the background.

I am using a RASPBERRY PI 4 in HDMI output on ONKYO TX NR 656 AV AMPLIFIER.

Thank you for your attention

Zip up one of the files and PM me a download link.

I'll try to repro the issue on my Pi4 -> HDMI -> Yamaha AVR.

I'm not hearing any hiss or any other audio glitches on my end. All my DSD files and the file you provided play perfectly.

Here's some info from my test.

Hello,
here are my screenshots, they are identical...

Input / Output

[*]Source NAS/TEST/David Elias/08 - David Elias - Crossing - Morning Light Western Town (DSD64 2.0).dsf
[*]Source format DSD 1 bit 2.822 MHz, Stereo
[*]Decoded to Not playing
[*]Output format Not playing
[*]ALSA mode IEC958 (iec958)
[*]Audio chain MPD → iec958 → Device
DSP operations
[*]Resampling Off
[*]Quality Off
[*]Selective Off
[*]CamillaDSP Off
[*]Volume type Fixed (0dB output)
[*]Volume levels Knob 0, ALSA 0.00dB, CDSP 0dB
Audio Device
[*]Device Pi HDMI 1
[*]Mixer name PCM
[*]Chip Broadcom SoC
[*]Interface SOC
[*]Formats IEC958_SUBFRAME_LE
[*]Pi model Pi-4B 1.5 4GB

I don't understand why, the hardware being identical there is a problem with this new version...
The new HDMI IEC958 driver may not be compatible with my amp: weird... Is there a way to put back the old one (HW) I think?
 Thanks for your answers.

What are "Decoded to" and "Output format" when its playing?

Maybe try setting SoX resampling to a different bit depth and/or rate and see if that changes anything.
