Problem: Volume is set to 0 after reboot
#1
Hello,
When Moode is started, if i play a radio music with the sound volume at 90% for example and I use spotify Connect to listening Spotify music. If I come back to radio the radio volume come back to 90%. Well!
If I reboot Moode by the Web button the volume is set to 90%. Well!
But if I do an electrical shutdown (power off without web interface) when I restart my Moode the volume is set to 0%.

I've re-install Moode from scratch but it's the same.

I think it's a bug. Do you have this behavior?

Thx

Seems to be solved in 9.0.1

- FIX: Fixed (0dB) reverts to Software vol for DAC's w/o Hardware volume
https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=6498

I will test it.

I will test it.

It's not fixed in Moode 9.0.8.

If I lestening Moode Radio and if I put spotify music and I restart my Moode, the volume is set to 0.

Is your case that the volume goes to zero if you pull the power to moOde while Spotify is connected?

ETA:
If so, I can reproduce this, but it will be expected behaviour since the ALSA vol is set to zero when Spotify connects so that Spotify can control the volume, it gets set back to what ever it was before when Spotify disconnects, but that can't happen if you pull the power while Spotify is connected.

I ran a quick test and am not able to repro the issue.

1. Configure volume type to Fixed (0dB)
2. Start radio station playing
3. Connect via iPhone Spotify App
4. sudo reboot

When the Web UI comes back up volume type is still correctly set to Fixed (0dB).

My conf  :
-> Moode 9.0.8
-> Device : Allo Boss DAC
-> Volume Type set to "Camilla DSP"
-> Auto play at start is enable

A new test :
-> Listening Radio with volume set to 100%
-> launch Sporify music
-> logical restart with Moode UI "System is Restarting"
-> BUG : Volume is set to "0" but music is playing, strange.
-> I do a new logical restart with Moode UI "System is Restarting"
-> BUG : Volume is set to "0" but no music is playing

I think its when using not-fixed volume Tim.  Set the volume to something other than zero, connect to Spotify, kill the player, when it starts volume will be at zero.  I can't see how it could be otherwise though, based on my understanding of what happens when the Spotify renderer takes control.

When Spotify renderer is active the screen overlay doesn't allow access to the "m"menu. You need to disconnect Spotify first.

It's wrong Tim, I can use this url for example to have the Moode Menu and restart my Moode  :
