Solved: Library DB Space to small
#11
Depending on how a ginormous collection is organized another thing to try is once it's successfully scanned into MPD database, switch to Library view and create saved searches that represent subsets of the collection then switch between them. This is a way to only load a subset of the collection into the WebUI instead of the whole thing.

mmm, a little weird, I've changed to IP Address to locate the NAS, seems like it lost connection building the library, so off we go again Smile

Very handy...

tail -f /var/log/mpd/log

Good news, the library has finished Smile - I can enjoy Moode r839, the logging was very handy, as I've spotted about 20 tracks in the log that are either corrupted or don't have valid metadata, so I can get to work on those tomorrow.

I think the library scan took around 4hrs, without the thumbnail options, which is really improved.

In your opinion, is there any sonic or functional reason why the r915 won't play ball now with my system, if I limit it's thumbnail collecting in the same way as we have done with r839? Is the r915 sonically better at all?

Many thanks for your help and support over the last few days, it's been appreciated.

The thumbs are still generated. Those settings just prevent them from being displayed in Albums list and Queue.

Thanks alot for your help Tim, in identifying the culprit of my out of memory issues, I've managed (easily) to install the r915 now, I've imported my settings from the r839 into that and it worked a charm, all settings where compatible and after a quick library scan (1h 17mins), everything, just works and nice and quickly as well. Excellent.

I'll keep Moode running for at least a couple of months and I have the r915 and the r839 on separate MicroSD cards, so I can flip them whenever.

Regards

Steve
