switched from 4.4 to 5.0 on an old Raspberry A: now connecting to moode.local is very very slow, many times I get impossible to connect. Therefore I cannot manage it remotely. Any comment?? is old Raspberry able to run 5.0?
Running on ethernet cable, and no issues with 4.4, that is curently playing radio stations

Hi,
Same issue here: UI is very slow on my PC to remotely manage a Raspberry Pi 3B.
I use Chrome browser running with Windows 7.
Configuring Moode took me a long time but now everything is in place and I use BubbleUPNP to control the player.

I have a code drop from @swizzle to test that should improve the look of the search and bar header elements :-)
Looking forward to seeing them.
Pun intended.

Initial slowness may be caused by mpd doing its thing scanning your music libraries.
That said, even after that, the UI seems glacially slow when loading config pages.
I'm going to put Moode on a Transcend high endurance SD card and see if that makes a difference.

In any case, I get the behavior I expect with Instant Play wiping the current playlist versus the ellipsis icon allowing me to choose how to deal with it whether I'm on my Linux desktop, on my iPad, or on my Android devices.
Re his "config back arrow not working", this functionality is working on all my systems, in particular on my Nexus 6P phone (Android 8.1) using an up-to-date version of either Chrome or Firefox. I do have to be precise in aiming my finger at the arrow in order to hit the active area of the button.
I agree the search and menu bar items are dim on all my devices---desktop and otherwise. I guess it doesn't bother me as much because I trust they are there.
Phil doesn't mention if he is using default Appearance settings. I'm wondering how much they might be affecting his usability.
Mind you, I have curious visual issues of my own (my handle tells only half the story) so I'm not the one to judge what is right in a UI.
Regards,
Kent Normal settings. Didnt touch Alpha Blend as that's just gobbledygook to me.
Too small a zone around touch areas might explain some of my problems, including accidental autoplay when aiming for the menu dots.
Still totally abhor my playlist being wiped by fat-fingeted mistakes, though. That's just plain wrong.
Can be worked around by autoplay saving playlist before wiping it.
Still need a load playlist option on same screen / menu as the save playlist option.

99% of time due to factors external to moOde software for example poor network performance, bad sd card, user OS modifications and tweaking, metal enclosures attenuating wifi, client bottlenecks etc etc.
No issues with performance on my end with 6 Pi's: 3 on 5GHz wifi 2 on 2.4Ghz wifi and one on Ethernet. I normally gauge performance by stressing my lowest end Pi-ZeroW.
Generally to troubleshoot performance issues its necessary to isolate the bottleneck. Utilities like ping, top and free can sometimes reveal network, cpu or ram bottlenecks. There is probably a similar util for disk I-O but I've never had disk I-O issues on the SDCards I use.

Here's some screenies showing the updated shading. Just remember to lay off the screen dimming ;-)

The playback change was to be consistent with the other playback page colors, the playbar switch lozenge probably doesn’t need to be the same. In Spotify there is no button and you tap/click the middle part of the bar to toggle full screen and that (well, upper middle) works as a hit target for moode as well. The playbar lozenge is an indicator that something is there the first few times you use it but most people will realize sooner or later they don’t need to aim precisely for the thin row of pixels and can just hit that general region to toggle (and when playback is maximized most people will probably gravitate towards using the cover art to minimize as it’s a huge hit target).

I should also mention that the hit target area for the cover ellipsis has bee expanded :-)

Hi,
I just installed Moode 5.0 and everything has gone fine except in the setup guide item 3c it says to go to menu, customize- I can find no choice for customize nor can I find the "Audio device description" in item 3d. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
