Hi Johan,

I'd have to be able to repro the problem to be able to troubleshoot it and unfortunately my collection is relatively small at around 4000 tracks. At this point without a repro, logs that show errors or some other information that could be analyzed its only speculations that the problem is in the auto-shuffle plugin.

Try looking at the MPD log to see if there is anything suspicious like permission errors.

cat /var/log/mpd/log

Yes the process id will change each time auto-shuffle is turned off/on.

You are not powerless in this situation. You could post your issue on the ashuffle Git and see if the dev has some thoughts on whether the sheer number of tracks that auto-shuffle has to randomize may be causing your particular problem. Maybe its some sort of memory limit or bug.

I am not using anywhere near 35000 songs, but I use auto shuffle 100% of the time with my player running 24/7 with somewhere around 4500 tracks without any issues.

Auto-shuffle starts OK with my library of 36,000 tracks in about 45secs. I had trouble when I had files starting with a full stop (Mac OS) but I found the solution here: http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.p...hlight=dot
Edit: My library is on a 1TB hard drive connected directly via USB.
