Generally it's best on the default kernel, using the 64-bit kernel can cause problems.
What requires you to run a 64bit kernel?

Let's just come out and say it. No, the 64-bit kernel doesn't "work better."
It's not the default kernel because we keep finding instances of it breaking things. That's why it's referred to as an experimental option. Regards, Kent

The reason the 64-bit kernel is offered as an experimental option is to help build an experience base of any issues it causes ahead of the Raspberry Pi Foundation releasing a full 64-bit RaspiOS.
One of the issues we know of is that it causes MPD to crash during database update :-0 |
