Back in post #12 it appears the log abruptly ended w/o printing the "Done:" line showing the results and counts of thumbnail generation. This suggests the thumbnail generator crashed for some reason.
Here's what it should look like. Notice the "Done:" line at the end showing the stats. This was run on one of my small mixed content test collections. Some of the files have bad metadata.
As @DRONE7 suggested earlier, remove the folder that you suspect might be the involve in the crash and then regenerate the thumbnails.
There are prolly other ways to troubleshoot but I'd try that first.
