Hi all members, thanks for letting me in. I'm trying to get my RPI4 to work with my Hegel 590, and Moodeaudio looks like a good contender to try out

That Hegel H590 looks like an interesting device ! Should be USB 2.0 compliant. I would think that your Pi via USB and MoOde should connect and discover without any further configuration other than selecting the MoOde USB output in the audio tab. Audio Config>MPD Options>MPD settings>EDIT and in the window that opens Output device>(your usb device) Cheers, Bob
