Station won't play in Moode

The following plays in a web browser but if I create a station in Moode with the same url, it won't play. Any ideas? Thanks.

You beat me to the punch

Checking the URL header with a command line tool like curl -I you'll find that the station's TLS/SSL certificate can't be verified by moOde because it is unable to get the local issuer certificate---possibly the station is self-signing---but that the encrypted and unencrypted streams are the same. 

This is not a moOde-specific issue; it arises on my Linux laptop as well.
