Problem: Cirrus Logic CS43198 drive

Hello to all a few weeks ago I assembled RPi with the "R98" HAT DAC which implements the legendary Cirrus Logic CS43198 (from specifications a chip to the TOP) I read that MoOde 7.3.0 supports the chip I reported, but among the dacs in the MPD menu I can't find its driver ... how should I configure it? thanks

The Allo Boss 2 DAC uses the same chip, so try selecting that one in the menu.

If it's the exact same board as in this listing, the HiFiBerry DAC driver is used according to the seller description.

the best proven driver that makes it sound the highest performance is the Audiophonics ES9028 / 9038 DAC driver in fact with that of HiFI Berry DAC indicated by the vendor using a 24bit @ 96kHz FLAC source only up to 24bit coding depth is achieved while with Audiophonics ES9028 / 9038 DAC  the same is reprotected up to 32bit

.....but unfortunately it can't play DSD files above 128
on MoOde with 7.3.0 does not read DSD256
but it is explicitly stated on the seller's description that using the HiFI Berry DAC driver with ver 7.0.1 the DAC only plays DSD up to 128 while on ver 6.4.0 it should also up to 256 and 512 but it does not seem to me that it activates it

That listing is loaded with misinformation. Buyer beware!

The I2S interface only supports up to DSD128. If you want to play DSD256 you'll need an audio device that uses the USB interface.

Yes. It doesn't matter what the hardware supports, the I2S audio drivers in Raspberry Pi Linux are max 384 kHz PCM rate which means DSD/DoP format is limited to DSD128 (352.8 kHz PCM).

If you want to play DSD256 in either DoP or Native format or converted to PCM you will need to use the USB interface whose driver in Raspberry Pi Linux supports the higher data rates that are required as well as supporting Native DSD bitstream format. For example DSD256/DoP format requires 705.6 kHz PCM rate.
