Hi all,
I have got hold of one of these

I intended to replace the PHAT CAD that I have successfully been using in my system. Based on the reviews i assumed it was a simple drop in with some minor config changes. I just cannot get it to work. I have tried both PHAT DAC and HIFIBERRY DAC named device and dt overlays. I have added gpio=25=op,dh to /boot/config.txt.
I have even resorted to a full fresh install. The good people at Pimoroni even swapped my original for a replacement in case of a damaged board.

in every case i can go back to the PHAT DAC and hear audio.

I have one of the mono amplifier versions of those on pi Zero in an old kitchen radio and it works fine with the HIFIBERRY DAC selected. I didn't need to mess about with adding anything in config.txt either.

Not much help I know, but my experience says the device should "just work" ™.

I don't see anything suspicious in the logs. I'd prolly remove out the line below.

gpio=25=op,dh

You might try settings ALSA output mode to "Direct (hw)" in Audio Config.

Look in dmesg to see if the i2s mapping is successful.

Below is what a success case looks like.

If there are errors then most likely some sort of hardware or connector issue.

Just to check (because it has happened on several occasions ) you have software volume selected.... have you adjusted the volume control on the mainMoOde player page ?
