Solved: No audio from HiFiBerry Digi(Digi+)
#1
Hello,

I am fairly new to mooDe, but am willing to investigate and to learn.

I installed moode version 7.4.1 2021-10-02 on my Pi-4B 1.4 2GB.
There is audio to the headset, when I select Pi Headphone Jack.
Nice, I can listen to stations and add extra stations. Perfect!

But when I select the HIFIBerry Digi+ and I connect the TOS-link cable to my amplifier, I have no audio.

I rebooted as mentioned in the browser.

Hopefully it is a simple issue, which I don't know about.
And I hope someone sees where the problem can be.

This my system info:

In Audio Config under the I2S Audio Device section set the Named device to your particular Hifiberry card and then reboot. You can verify that the configuration is correct by examining /boot/config.txt. It should contain the line below.

Code:
dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi

Hello Tim,

thanks for your explanation. In the config.txt there is indeed
Code:
dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi

Could you tell me what the diiference is beteen "Named device" and DT overlay". I can set only one of these.
So, for now I have selected DT overlay: hifiberry-digi. Then, after reboot, there is light at the TOS-link.
So, I guess this is ok.

But, still no audio. Maybe there is another issue, in the amplifier.
I will investigate further.

Named devices provide extra options if available for the device and if they have been integrated into moOde. For example most of the Burr Brown PCM 5xxx based devices offer various chip options that can be set in the Chip Config screen. The Hifiberry DAC+/ADC and Audiophonics 9028/9038 DAC have both chip options and input switching screens.

The DT overlay selections simply add the appropriate overlay to boot/config which provides basic connectivity for the device.

For the digi+ which has no extra options the Named device and DT overlay selections produce same result.

Hello Tim,

thanks for the explanation.
My system is working fine now, after a second reboot.

It's been on now for 72 hrs, and still plays.
So solved.
