Problem: Installation of 7.,6.1
#1
Bit of a noob question - I am having a problem installing latest version. It says on the download page - the download zip contains a ready-to-use ISO image - simply write to SD card. No mention of 'flashing' the image. I have copied the ISO as instructed but Pi4 will not boot - doesn't even start the ethernet port up. Can somebody please confirm if there is anything else required to get 7.6.1 to load up - am I missing something here ?

Sorry about the vague wording.

The ISO image is an exact copy of the entire operating system in a specific format (which was invented for dealing with optical disks actually). As a crude analogy, think of it as a copy of a book including its cover, table of contents, and index as compared to a collection of copies of only the individual chapters.

The ISO image should be installed (aka "flashed") on a uSD card or other bootable media. My favorite tool for this is Balena Etcher. There's also the Raspberry Pi Imager and countless other programs suitable for use on various host OSes.

Kent

- Scroll down to "Use custom" and it will present a selection window. Navigate to where the moode-r761-iso.zip file is located and select it.

- Write
- When complete insert SDCard into Pi and insert Ethernet cable into Pi
- Power up then from Browse http://moode, http://moode.local or http://ip_address_of_pi, whoever works on your network.
Enjoy the Music!
