Problem: Distinguish between 2 Moode based systems on same network
#1
hello,
I hope the answer is straightforward as I am not very tekky.
I run two separate hifi systems in different rooms of the house. Both systems are connected to a separate Allo USbridge Signature (Raspberry based) as the bridge/streamer which are both connected by ethernet to the same internet network in the house -so there are 2 Moode Audio loaded Usbridges and when i set them up in the Moode settings/configuartion I did name one "Moode Audio" and the other "Moode Audio Kitchen".  I use my iphone S max to control each device via the Spotify Connect app on my phone. I do not use Airplay.

As I have 2 separate hifi systems I need to be able to distinguish between each Moode loaded Allo device if I move from one room to the other. At the moment only one "Moode Audio Spotify" option is shown on the Spotify Connect app even when both Allo devices are connected so the only way of making sure that my phone is controlling the Allo device of one hif system is to disconnect the Allo device in the other room otherwise my phone still tries to connect to the Allo device in the last room where I was listening to music. The same was true when previously I used Airplay.

I have no interest in "multi-room listening" as that is a different thing to having 2 separate independent Moode Audio systems I assume!).

What I would like is for Spotify Connect to list the 2 different Moode audio loaded systems when i chosose which system to stream Spotify through. Not sure if this is a Moode Audio, Spotify, Allo or iphone issue but i thought I would start with Moode as that sems to have more configuration possibilities.
Any sugegstions?

Thanks for reading.

Open System Config on the Kitchen system and change the Host name from "moode" to moode-kitchen and then reboot.

If you're using Spotify Connect then you'll also want to go to m>Configure>Renderers and rename the Spotify Connect renderer for either or both players. Note that the name can be anything and doesn't need to include "Spotify" in it.

This is also true for any of the alternative renderers: Bluetooth, AirPlay, etc.

Kent

Thanks, Tim, for your reply.
I checked the system config settings for both Moode loaded Allo devices and I see that I had already allocated different host names  "Moodestudy" and 'Moodekitchen" - apologies for not mentioning this in my OP. I did this again, pressed "SET" in each cae and then rebooted or powered down and up but still no difference.

On the Spotify app on my iphone "Moode Spotify" (as well as other devices "This iphone", "Airplay or Bluetooth") comes up on the "Current Device" window of the Spotify playback window, accessed by clicking the little device icon bottom left of the spotify player window but no distinction is made between the two Moode loaded All devices.

Are there any more settings I should check?

What I done is to change the name of everything I can change :

host name
Network (SSID) name
Bluetooth name
AirPlay name
Spotify connect name
and UPnP/DLNA names
