can i send my usb to a friend

im currently abroad for a few months and i have a raspberry pi4 my friend back home has a raspberry pi3 can i install moodeaudio on an usb stick and configure it on my rpi4.
and then ship it to my friend so he can use it (also set the wifi to his ofcourse before i send it) so he can use it in his rpi3?

Yes but (*)

1. There is a System config setting named "USB boot" for the Pi 3 that has to be enabled in order to boot from a USB drive.
2. Some types of USB drives won't boot on the Pi.

You might want to use an SD Card instead of a USB drive to avoid any issues.

the rpi3 is already booting from usb its my old raspberry pi so that shouldnt be an issue.
i have very bad expierences with sd cards they constantly die on me Smile

In that case you should be all set.

Ive had only a couple of SD Cards go bad in like 8 years :-)  I used to use SanDisk Ultra Class 10 but for past few years have been using WD Purple QD101 cards. https://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-P...160&sr=8-4

They are inexpensive and engineered for surveillance cameras and temp extremes.
