Idea: Routing without CamillaDSP
#1
Hi there,

first of all, thanks to all of you who develop in your spare time - you made my day!

From time to time I help out at gatherings with my digital Allen&Heath QU16. Remote control by WIFI is a basic functionality that enables me to place the desk anywhere backstage. The only problem is that audio playback was fixed to a cable. That changed now! moOde made it! Now I want to playback remotely with highest quality as I plugged the desk via USB to the raspberry.

Now I have 22 playback channels of which the stereo channels are 16/17 (18/19 and 20/21). So guess, as the playback worked out of the box I wanted to play back on the stereo channels. CamillaDSP configured with this tutorial moOde + CamillaDSP + multichannel output
It eventually works. Only pitty, one core of the CPU permanently works with 80% load (Raspberry Pi 3b with 32 bit OS). Nevertheless playback seems stable so far - critical for performances (thats why bluetooth is no option for me)!
New raspberry has only a small performance gain I assume.

As I really don't need CamillaDSP to process 16 empty channels (Optimization in CamillaDSP would do the job already) I thought if there was an other option to specify alsa what channels to use.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Handy! Thanks for the quick response. That should do the job. I'll try for sure!

Regarding "New raspberry has only a small performance gain I assume."

3B+ or 4B with 64b will be a significant improvement over 3B 32b
Enjoy the Music!
