Is it possible to display the cover tags in the queue?
Not the current song,
but the column on the left

Aren't they shown?
Only thing I see is that, eventually, there is a mismatch between what you see in the queue, and what is playing.
Try to m => Settings => Library => regenerate thumbnail cache.

Whats the usage scenario where it would be beneficial to show track tags for each Queue item?

Sorry for the late reply.
Since I'm a little older, it's easier for me to choose based on the cover. Unfortunately I can no longer remember all the artists and titles.
