DLNA to moode
#1
Hi.

I have a TV box with an MP3 disk connected. DLNA is running there.
When I tested volumio, it was immediately visible, but... I don't want volumio Wink .
How to set moode to view files via DLNA from another device.

warm regards.

What control point (Linn Kazoo, Lumin, etc) are you using?

I believe Volumio includes some kind of DLNA indexing service, so it has some of the functionality of a DLNA "control point".

There's no comparable capability in moOde, which is strictly a DLNA "renderer".

Google is your friend regarding what UPnP/DLNA are and what the key functionalities are.

Assuming that the "MP3" disk attached to your TV box is a USB, the simplest way round this would be to plug the MP3 USB into your Pi where moOde can use it as its library directly. Then you turn on the DLNA filesharing in the System Config section of moOde, which makes the library available on the network in the same way as your TV box is currently doing. Voila, your music files are in moOde, and on the network via DLNA like before.

Kent, I know what dlna is and how it works.
I thought moode had a similar function, but I don't see it.

Robert, repositioning the pen is a way around the problem, not a solution. Wink
I understand that this functionality is not available... "yet". I can live with it. Smile
I think we can close this discussion for now.
Thanks everyone for your replies.

Right.  Moode works as a renderer only.

Tim, You wrote that I can control for example through Linn Kazoo.
I'm looking looking looking and I can't.
On my apple I run app Linn Kazoo, and all time - Waiting for rooms....

can you guide me, how to connect moOde with Linn?

tnx a lot.

… and open settings and set Service type to OpenHome....
I tried all day and already thought you were kidding me.   Tongue

For newbies you have to write such things...

And - DLNA via kazoo works good Smile
