Can´t connect via MacBookPro-Qobuz
#1
Hi everyone,

I have a rapberry 3 with ProtoDAC installed. I can connect to Moode via mconnect on the Iphone and playing qobuz music. But if i use FireStream on my MacBookPro, there is nothing in the desktop app in qobuz to select, exept the internal loudspeakers. I also tried to install in Termnal the Bubble UpnP, the same problem, they see both the MoodeUpnP, but there is no possibility to select it via Qobuz.

Has anyone an idea??

I want to make an subscription to Qobuz, but only if it is working from the Desktop, because it is more comfortable as from the little Iphone. So I am only registered but have not paid it, because it didn´t work.

ALex

Maybe that is the culprit...?

As an analogy, Spotify normal account does not allow casting to any spotify-connect enabled devices, while their Premium account does...

But it is working from Iphone, with the same User data login.Only some seconds of a title, but for testing enough. So I am registered, but until it is not working 100% I don´t want to pay.

Try asking on the FireStream forums

Let me put down in a clearer way:

your account allows to play music from Qobuz from the app on your iPhone, or on your PC app, or via browser. This is normal and expected behavior.
your account does not allow you to stream/cast music from your iPhone / PC to any other satellite device.

you don't test it? -> you don't pay
you don't pay? -> you probably won't be able to test it.

At least this is what I can understand with comparison to other streaming services options.

I expect the QoBuz desktop app is not a UPnP control point just as the Qobuz app on my iPad is not. In my case, I stream from the app to moOde’s AirPlay renderer.

The mConnect app, OTOH, is a UPnP control point and also can act as a proxy UPnP media server for Qobuz tracks.

Ok I will now subscribe to Qobuz, hoping i can connect to Moode.

Thanks...

I think to play Qobuz on moOde you may need to use a LMS app; there is no native Qobuz-connect client on moOde.
There is some unofficial (and maybe illegal?) artifact using a client stolen from Volumio, but then, there you'll be on your own...

IMO you should keep using mConnect.

Now I paid it and it is not working from my MacBookPro. I installed BubbleUpnp exactly like this: https://www.bubblesoftapps.com/bubbleupn...stall.html

But I have no connect possibilities exept my internal loudspeakers.

But BubbleUPnP Server (and FireStream, for that matter) is just that---a UPnP Media Server. You still need something, the BubbleUPnP app, say, or mConnect, to act as a UPnP Control Point.

Maybe I'm misreading your posts but it seems like you need to read up on the whole UPnP architecture. See, for example, the Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Plug_and_Play

I'll quote just a few lines from it

Quote:Generally a UPnP audio/video (AV) architecture consists of:
  •     Control Point: a device that discovers Media Servers and Media Renderers, then connects them
  •     Media Server: the server that stores content on the network to be accessed by Media Renderers
  •     Media Renderer: a device that renders ('plays') content received from a Media Server.
