Spotify connect not working...
#1
This has been driving me nuts for a week now.  I'm on the latest version of Moode runnding on a Pi4.  Every time I try to connect to my Moode player via Spotify Connect, the Spotify app shows a brief connection to my player (icon goes green) then abrubtly boots me off (icon goes white).  When I go to the Moode web UI, it tells me that Spofity Connect is active so I disconnect and try the process all over again only to be met with the same result.  Anyone else?

Did it work prior to a week ago?

Try clearing the Spotify credential cache (in Renderer Config)

I did try clearing the cache.  No joy.

Reverted back to 8.3.9 and all is well again.  Could be a Spotify issue.  I have three moOde players set up, this was the only one running 9.0.8.  Everything else was behaving normally.  Just this one Spotify playback issue on this one player.

I think I'm having a similar issue...

I've been a MoodeAudio user for a 3-4 years, using an Allo DigiOne on a raspberry pi 4B. In the last year I upgraded to ver 8 (something), and started experiencing interruptions when using SpotifyConnect. On my Mac, using the Spotify app, I would connect to Moode Spotify. After upgrading to MoodeAudio ver 8, playing would stop after some intermittently, and I would see that the device Moode Spotify was no longer available; i.e., clicking the speaker icon on the lower right lists available devices, but Moode Spotify would not be listed. I found that the most reliable way to get it show up again (in the desktop app) would be to use the web interface to restart the Spotify Connect renderer (m / configure / renderers / ...) But this random disconnect hadn't ever happened in the previous version. Thinking an update might fix the problem, this morning -- using a new microSD card -- I installed:

Release: 9.1.4 2024-10-26
Platform Information
RaspiOS: 12.7 Bookworm 64-bit
Linux kernel: 6.6.51 64-bit
Pi model: Pi-4B 1.4 4GB
MPD version: 0.23.14

Now I'm unable to get the Spotify app to connect at all. The Pi is connected via ethernet and WiFi is on. I can ssh into the RPi from my Mac via both the ethernet and wifi interfaces. The NAS is connected and plays. The Spotify app lists the device as available (so the service is advertised), but it won't connect; just times out 55 seconds. I've cleared the cached credentials and restarted the Pi many times. Can anyone suggest what might be going on?

One last piece of info: I have my first installation on another SDcard (see below). I swapped that one back in and it connects just fine. It's been playing for about 20 mins without dropping. Seems like it's either a configuration pitfall that got me, or a software interaction of some sort; not my hardware failing.

Thanks!

First insallation:
moOde release = 7.6.1 2021-12-17
RaspiOS = 10.6
Linux kernel = 5.4.77-v7l+ #1371
Platform = Pi-4B 1.4 4GB
Architecture = armv7l (32-bit)

Try using just one network interface on the Pi.

I have also noticed that on occasion, I need to reboot my control point, player and router in order for Spotify to connect reliably over an upgrade. I assume there are some connection details in a cache somewhere that need clearing out. I've not been scientific about it though, so it could be placebo.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I disabled WiFi in the system config; rebooted; confirmed that it's not available under network config.
Tried to connect; no luck.
Cleared the credentials cache, and tried to connect; no luck.

Rebooted my router, and my desktop (per @the_bertrum suggestion); no luck.

I even deleted the Spotify app and re-installed it; no luck.

The moode_librespot.log doesn't seem to have anything that looks suspicious, but the following appears toward the end of the moode.log

20241120 013739 watchdog: Started Spotify Connect after crash detected
20241120 013739 DEBUG: startSpotify(): (librespot --name "Moode Spotify" --bitrate 320 --format S16 --mixer softvol --initial-volume 5 --volume-ctrl log --volume-range 60 --cache /var/local/www/spotify_cache --
disable-audio-cache --backend alsa --device "_audioout" --onevent /var/local/www/commandw/spotevent.sh -v > /var/log/moode_librespot.log 2>&1 &)

20241120 013739 DEBUG: enhanceMetadata(): error: currentsong file is NULL
20241120 015155 DEBUG: chkVariables(): Excluded key: path

Is there anything else I can provide that might reveal what's going on?

Thanks again for your attention!

Use S32 not S16. S16 is not working after latest librespot upgrade. Had same issue.

Odd, I'm using S16 without issues.
