Solved: Nothing in library
#1
Exclamation
After a router change, nothing shows up in my library.

  1. I have Moode installed on a Raspberry Pi. The Pi is connected by Ethernet, and Moode is configured to use the WiFi network. It plays music from my NAS - Pi and NAS both cabled to router.
  2. Moode was working fine, and has been for months.
  3. My router's WiFi failed and in the interim, I used a WiFi hotspot, but left the router connected as before.
  4. I tried once to use Moode, but it didn't work. I don't recall in what manner - didn't load, couldn't find it, blank library. I realized it wasn't configured for the hotspot, and didn't worry about why it didn't work over Ethernet.
  5. I replaced the router with a new brand and model.
  6. As best I could, I reset all settings on the new router to the same values - same WiFi SSID, password, etc. This took a little while.
  7. When I got back to Moode, it showed up normally in my browser, but with no library - just the grey Moode image.
  8. I went back and fiddled with the router settings. At some point, Moode (with no interaction) just wasn't accessible at all, so I restarted the Pi.
  9. Now, again, Moode is accessible, has Ethernet and WiFi access, is assigned a network address, etc.
  10. However, no matter what I do, it doesn't show the library.
    - I've remounted and recreated the NAS, with the same settings. It shows a green checkmark in the Moode UI.
    - I've regenerated the music library several times and left the browser page open until the spinner vanished.
    - I've regenerated the thumbnail cache several times. It says it's scanned 2,800 thumbails, which is interesting, because it's >0 but (I think) less than the number of albums I have.
    - I've restarted Moode many times.
    - I've used the 'update library' command many times.
    - I've restarted the MPD.
    - using the search box on the home page has no effect at all.
I'm baffled by why no music is showing up in Moode with all the above. Really the only change has been in the router itself (from NetGear to TP-Link). All the Moode settings were unchanged, and even the WiFi network SSID and password are unchanged. Either something has gone wrong with Moode or it's not getting access to the NAS properly - though it says it has, and has those 2,800 thumbnails.

Advice?

Have you cleared your stale browser cache ?

Yes, I have. I've also tried a browser that a) stores no info, and b) is very seldom used. No luck.

When I changed my router, I had to reset the network on the NAS (synology) before it worked. One of those jobs where you push a pin into a little hole on the NAS. However, my NAS wasn't on the network at all and it sounds like yours is. Either way, a reboot of the NAS would not go astray here.
Also try clearing the library tag cache within moOde.

If all that fails, reboot moOde and send a startup log, then regenerate the library and send that log too.

Just noticed this
"Now, again, Moode is accessible, has Ethernet and WiFi access, is assigned a network address, etc."
Try connecting with one mode only and regenerate the library

Reboot and then post the contents of the startup log.

The log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.

I've rebooted the NAS (though I did that in the course of replacing the router).
I cleared the Moode library tag cache.
Below, I've sent the startup log.

Not sure how to find the library regeneration log.

I've blocked the Moode/Pi's WiFi access and regenerated the library. No luck.

The log indicates you have the Hotspot running and therefore must be connecting to it from your Browser. Is that correct?
