Problem: Moode hangs all te time
#1
I was happy to use Moode quit a long time on a Raspberry Pi-3B+ release 8.2.0. extended with a HiFiBerry DAC+ audio card.
My music is stored on a usb-drive connected tot the Pi.
Everything worked fine until some days ago the Pi started hanging all the time so I had to reboot the system on and on.
The cause is not the USB-drive because the Pi also keeps on hanging after I disconnected the USB-drive.
Remarkable is that the Pi does not hang when I SSH the system using PuTTy, but the moment I start the Moode Player for the first time the Pi hangs after a minute or so.
Its is then no longer possible tot SSH the Pi and the Moode player refuses to connect, but pinging is succesfull.
Installing release 9.1.4 did not make any difference.
I did not yet install the HiFiBerry DAC+ audio card in this release, so I guess not the audio card is causing the problem.
In the directory /var/log I could not find usefull error information.
Any ideas about what causes the trouble are very welcome.

Do I understand it right, that it now also occurs with release 8.2.0 which has worked before without any problems?

Yes.
It and is even getting more weird.
I noticed is that everything works fine when I use a different moode frontend like MALP or MAFA.
Today the music played whole day without any problem with MALP.
However as soon as I use the original Web frontend (Windows and Android), the system flips out within a few minutes and when I choose an configure option within the original frontend (the character m right-top) the system stops immediately.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with these frontends.
How do you change moode to use them?
Have I missed a configuration option or is this something you have to change under the hood without configuration in the gui?

I've used MAFA, its an android app that operates as an MPD client allowing you to remote control a Moode player.
No changes required to the moode player in my experience, it just bypasses the local display / web portal functionality

How old is the SD Card? They sometimes fail. I've had a few go and the first sign of it is anything from unstable/hanging performance to it simply freezing. Have you tried to use a new SD card?
