Good morning.
I am a happy user of Moode 8.3.2.
I have a Pi3b and Hifiberry Digi+ Pro.
I use wireless to connect to the tablet as a user interface.
I have set Moode to speed up booting (I disabled the Lan cable search, turned off the LEDs and HDMI). However, when I turn it on, Moode takes about 110 seconds before the Moode wireless signal is visible.
The previous version (Moode 4.x) took about 30 seconds.
I wanted to know if the new Moode 9 version takes even longer to boot, because otherwise I would be stuck with version 8.3.2.
I wanted to know if there is anything else I can do to further speed up the startup of Moode 8.
I tried setting CPU governance to "Performance", but it made no difference.
Thank you for your advice.

Make sure you have a nice fast SD card too.
What scenario do you have that makes a fast boot so essential?

Thanks for the replies.
The only reason I have is... hurry.
I haven't upgraded to Moode 9 yet for fear that each new version will have an even longer boot.
Considering that Moode 8 already has everything I need, I'm afraid that by upgrading to version 9 I would lengthen the boot time without any real advantage. Unless there are audio improvements, but Tim seems to rule out that there could be any changes in the sound...
If you have any suggestions for making the boot faster (I already have a fast Kingston card), I'd be happy to try them.
Thanks very much

You can try looking in the moode startup log to see what line or section takes the longest but that log only begins after Linux has completed its startup.
- The moode startup log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.
- The Linux startup log can be viewed by the command dmesg.
With latest moOde on a 3B+ WiFi, Linux takes about 30 secs and moOde about 20 secs. Basically around a minute total.

Ok, I installed a Moode 9 on a new sd card.
I see that there is activity on the raspberry (hard disk works), however, there is no moode hotspot wifi network on the tablet (and therefore I cannot use Moode).
I performed the installation following the Pi image tutorial.
What did I do wrong?

Oh ok you are using the Hotspot (or Access Point mode).
In moode 9 series it doesn't work on the Pi-3B and no one has been able to determine why that is the case. The symptom is "Password is incorrect" or something like that. There are some posts in the Forum about it.

In my case, the problem is that the Moode does not enter AP mode.. because the tablet does not even detect it..

Why use AP mode? I've never understood the benefit unless you are moving your moode player from place to place where WiFi might not be available. What am I missing?
