MPD 0.24.2 update

MPD has been updated to 0.24.2.

To install it follow the procedure below. It will not require regenerating the music database.

Code:

sudo apt update && apt list --upgradable
sudo apt-mark unhold mpd
sudo apt -y install mpd=0.24.2-1moode1

sudo reboot

For those experiencing issues with MPD update not completing, let us know if this new version resolves that issue.

OK, before I go through the nausea of  “updating”  several streamers, does this patch to MPD actually do anything useful?

Your choice of words is noteworthy. In 11 years of the moOde project I've never heard anything like that. Most people are very appreciative of our generous effort and commitment to make and support great free music software for everyone to enjoy :-)

Btw, I provided the update for any users that want to help test it and provide feedback especially regarding the MPD update issue I mentioned. It fixed on my end.

No problems updating to date and just ran this to trial...all good.
MoOde just keeps getting better and faster every release. :-)

I didn't have any mpd issues, but I'm trying this anyway to hopefully add to the success test cases.

Just applied the update to my 3 RPI's with moOde, updated without issues.
Although I have to say I did not experience any issue with MPD 0.24 neither...

For sure its important to report success cases as well as failures.

Did the update on 2 instances, and everything is still working fine.
