Problem: Scanned in various locations but never see any music
#1
New install of moOde, - got it working to my DAC (an FiiO M11S), and can SSH/SCP into it, but no matter where I put the music and scan/regenerate, I can't see any tracks, only the stock radio stations and the test file.
Initially, I mounted an NTFS USB drive, that had a ton of backups including music, to the pi3B+ and scanned it. It took a long time, which was to be expected, but several 1000 tracks were detected, but no tracks/albums were shown anywhere in the player, so I wiped and restarted. (I've since learnt about .mpdignore, which I shall try out shortly)
Considering that I may bitten off more than this could chew,  I next tried a freshly formatted exFat USB stick with a couple of albums - again, albums were detected (artist name being shown at the bottom momentarily) but no tracks/albums were displayed in the player.
I tried dropping some other files into the SDCARD dir (as per 4.2 in the docs), but again, a scan proves that something is going in, but now showing that  '10 folders scanned, 0 thumbs created, 10 already in cache'

The /var/log/mpd/log shows a lot of entries that I guess seem to concur (attached), but I cannot find a relevant database other than the two 136KB files in /var/local/www/db/, though I found another couple of other log files (attached in a zip) (nb my DAC wasn't attached when I last ran it, so no audio out).
My last thought was to see if the pi was sharing anything on the network, and I see a upnp share with all the music scanned, so at least that bit works.
Update: I've found the libcache files in /var/local/www/ which are being populated with tag info

I've been up and down through the settings to see if I've missed anything, and scoured this, and a couple of other forums, but whilst I see some hints, nothing I have learnt has helped. Any thoughts/hints/tips please?

Sounds like you are not using the library view. Tap the cover art to go to the library.

Most odd - I'd 'instinctively' started with that, and thought I'd checked back there several times since, but now I see stuff. Thanks for the pointer though.
Now to figure out why it has only scanned as far as the first few artists in 'B'...

Check the MPD log (cat /var/log/mpd/log) to see if there is any error; the last successfully scanned file will be reported, so the following one most probably triggers an error / crashes MPD... so we can have a clue, and possibly help. You're not the first with this kind of issue.
