AK4137 PIN 3 DATA connects to GPIO Pin 40 of ProtoDAC
AK4137 PIN 6 LRCK connects to GPIO Pin 35
AK4137 PIN 4 BCK connects to GPIO Pin 12
The ProtoDAC should not be connected to the GPIO of the Raspberry Pi, other than 5V and Ground connection, just the way you are using it (as an outboard, not HAT). The AK4137 board will input the I2S signals from the Raspberry Pi GPIO, and output the I2S signals to the ProtoDAC from the 10 pin connector.
