I prefer to have an integrated CD ripper in moOde
That's exactly what I'm building into my under-construction audio player. SATA DVD drive => SATA-USB interface => RPi running Moode => abcde with a custom script so when I insert a CD it will be ripped to flac, tagged and put into a "CD rips" folder. If possible, I also hope to generate a .cue file and add it to the Moode playlists.
The Pi4 should be great for this as there's more processor grunt for encoding the flac, also the gigE and USB3 will be nice for dealing with large libraries on USB storage. I might need to have a careful look at additional heatsinking though, it looks like a slight increase in maximum power over the Pi 3b+ and I've never been very convinced by those tiny penny-sized heatsinks people sell for Pis. Anyone got any suggestions for a beefier heatsink that will allow the Pi4 to avoid thermal throttling?
