Are there plans to support gapless playback with Spotify?

I believe from what I've read around various places that this may require a change to a different Spotify renderer/endpoint? If so, as you do with MPD (offering the two versions through the config options), would it be possible to offer a choice of Spotify renderers/endpoints?
